BlackRock Explores Tokenizing ETFs to Bridge Traditional and Digital Asset Markets
BlackRock CEO Laurence Fink has identified tokenization as a pivotal growth area in financial markets, signaling the firm's intent to revolutionize asset accessibility. During the Q3 2025 earnings call, Fink revealed plans to tokenize iShares ETFs and other long-term investment products, aiming to integrate them with the $4.5 trillion digital wallet ecosystem.
The asset manager's global scale and technological ambitions position it to merge traditional securities with crypto assets, stablecoins, and tokenized instruments. "Today’s digital wallets lack access to high-quality traditional investments," Fink noted, underscoring BlackRock’s strategy to dominate the convergence of legacy and decentralized finance.
